
The history of August Töpfer & Co began in 1912 in the city of Erfurt, Germany. The company was engaged in the wholesale supply of such imported goods as sugar, coffee, legumes and dried fruits. After 1945, August Töpfer established itself as a major player in the international sugar trade. The company is still the largest German exporter of white sugar today.
Since 1990, the company has been providing its customers with a full range of customer services for the import, storage, packaging and logistics of food and non-food products.
In July 1997, a branch of August Töpfer & Co was opened in Saint Petersburg of Russia. The priority activity of the branch is the supply of raw materials for confectionery, bakery and dairy industries in the northwestern region of Russia. The Russian branch of August Topfer focused on the purchase and wholesale supply of nuts and their products, as well as dried fruits, candied fruits, sugar, chocolate coating and coconut flakes.
In 2010 August Topfer Russia launched a new production and warehouse complex with a total area of 12,000 square meters. During next 2 years the factory was was equipped with numerous production lines and equipment for the industrial processing of almonds, hazelnuts, cashew, peanuts, pistachio, and flavoured nuts.
Our specialist maneged the development and implementation of the Quality Management System at this enterpise in short terms. Within 7 months the QMS was developed and company successfully passed SGS certification audit and confirm the system meets requirements of the international standards ISO 9001:2008 and 22000:2005.
During next years the company successfully passed repeated SGS audits, demonstrating sustainability and excellent dynamics in the development of the quality and safety management system in food production.
